What is PAT Testing?
Portable Appliance Testing is the regular checking and examination of portable electrical appliances to make sure they are safe to use in a working environment.
Do I need to test?
It is an employers duty under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 to ensure the welfare of all employees. This encludes ensuring all equipment is safe to use.
Is it legislation?
PAT Testing is not a legal requirement although the law states that any electrical equipment in the workplace is regularly maintained and not pose any danger.
